Dr. Joe-Joe McManus serves as the Executive Director of the CUNY Leadership Academy, and senior administrator in the CUNY Central Office of Student Affairs (COSA). In addition to the Academy, his portfolio includes Student Life, International Student & Scholar Services, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Service Learning, Professional Development for Student Affairs, and the COSA Website.
Dr. McManus joined the Academy in 2008, and also serves as faculty in educational leadership. His experience includes multicultural teacher education, curriculum development, educator mentoring, leadership education, interdisciplinary and cross-sector partnerships, and organizational development. He has lectured, served on panels, presented, and consulted in the U.S. and internationally for more than two decades. Dr. McManus has served on a number of boards, most recently the Board of Directors of the National Association for Multicultural Education and currently serves as a member of the Diversity Collegium national think tank. In addition to his work at CUNY, he is also serving as the editor for an anthology being written by the Diversity Community Exchange (DiCE) Group, which will address issues of equity and leadership using personal narratives.
Prior to his appointment at CUNY, Dr. McManus served as an administrator at Dartmouth and the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. Also notable, McManus completed an appointment as a visiting professor at Chancellor College at the University of Malawi (2001-02) through the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help (IFESH). For the previous four years he taught in the College of Education at Florida A & M University where his students dubbed him "Dr. Joe-Joe."
The first in his family, McManus earned a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Astrophysics, and went on to receive his M.A. in Multicultural Education. He completed his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership in 2000 at Florida A & M University (FAMU). Dr. McManus currently resides in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx, NY.

Zina Richardson serves as Program Coordinator for the CUNY Leadership Academy and the Ambassadors Program. She also provides university-wide support to the Career Development Centers, Student Life and Development and the CUNY Women's Centers. In addition to her duties within the Division of Student Affairs, her responsibilities include chairing the University Relief Coordinator's Council, co-chairing the COSA Professional Development Committee; and serving as the CUNY Coordinator for The New York Blood Center (NYBC).
Throughout her 17 years at The City University of New York, Ms. Richardson has demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding services and programs to students within the University system.
Ms. Richardson received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from SUNY Old Westbury and a M.S. Degree in Education from Queens College.
