The CUNY Leadership Academy Fellows

The 2009-10 CLA Fellows were selected through a nominations process that included requests for nominations that were sent all CUNY College Presidents and key CUNY-wide program leaders as well as an open application process. We received more than 160 nominations and applications, interviewed 60 candidates individually and in groups, and selected 25 extraordinary student leaders for this year's cohort. For the next cohort (2010-11), we will again request nominations from the CUNY College Presidents and there will also be an open application process for any CUNY student.

The current CLA Fellows represent 18 CUNY Colleges, 20 majors, all five Boroughs of NYC, more than a dozen nations, and numerous student organizations including student governments and USS. The Fellows are a beautiful reflection of the diversity of CUNY, and have demonstrated leadership and advocacy on their campuses, across CUNY, and in their communities on a wide array of issues.
